Leadership

My journey has always centered around service. From leading teams in the military to coaching professionals in the federal government, I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about power—it’s about responsibility. It’s about building trust, setting clear expectations, and walking alongside others as they grow. I will bring that same mindset to the classroom. I want my students to see themselves as leaders—of their thoughts, their actions, and their futures. Through collaborative learning, structured guidance, and meaningful conversations, I aim to equip them with the confidence to lead with integrity, whether in the classroom or in their communities.

Empathy

Empathy has shaped every chapter of my life—from comforting grieving families as a casualty assistance officer to supporting peers through life’s transitions. I’ve seen how powerful it is when someone feels truly heard and valued. I believe students thrive when they feel safe, supported, and understood. That’s why I will focus on building relationships, learning my students’ stories, and teaching in ways that reflect their unique needs. I want every child to know they matter—and that their voice belongs in our classroom.

Courage

Courage is not the absence of fear—it’s the choice to show up anyway. I’ve had to make that choice many times, especially during moments when I felt different, underestimated, or unheard. In my classroom, I will teach my students to be brave thinkers, kind challengers, and compassionate defenders of what’s right. I want them to ask hard questions, challenge injustice, and know that they are capable of making change—because courage is contagious.
