About Mrs. Gillispie

Hi, I’m Marquiesha Gillispie—proud Texan, lifelong learner, and aspiring 7–12 Social Studies teacher. After more than two decades of dedicated public service, I’m stepping into the classroom with a mission: to teach students to lead with knowledge and courage.

Rooted in my deep love for history, civic engagement, and critical thinking, I bring real-world experience, a heart for community, and a passion for shaping future leaders. As a veteran, advocate, and now educator-in-training through the Teachers of Tomorrow certification program, I understand the power of discipline, empathy, and perseverance—and I’m excited to share those lessons with my students.

Whether we’re exploring the Constitution, the causes of the Civil War, or the complexities of world governments, I strive to make learning meaningful and relevant. My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels seen, valued, and equipped to make a difference.

Let’s build a future grounded in understanding, responsibility, and bold curiosity—together.

Thank you for being here and all the best,
